It's a challenge for the Australian squad to break new ground.

The top summits have already been conquered.

We're talking about the squad that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, along with another six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed nearly four years undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, the ones sought by the achievement hunters, are what's still available for a squad that has accomplished all there is.

It needed until Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase over 300, taking back their record for the largest in the female 50-over format, is, frankly, a compliment to the pitchers that have represented Australia over five decades.

It's challenging for their batters to hold a record if not provided the opportunity.

That loss "motivated us to reconsider our benchmarks," Healy said this week.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the championship match and was awarded tournament MVP. She ensured her country would not fall short again.

If this recent magnificent innings topped that previous effort remains open for discussion.

Many contend the reasoning behind championship match pressure. Others can counter with the challenge that comes when facing a record target and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What is certain is this ton was considerably tougher to anticipate.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 occurred when she led the batting statistics, but this knock was preceded by six games in India over the past few weeks in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"If you've observed me in the nets, it has been a disappointing period because it seemed my form was missing whatsoever," stated Healy.

"Pursuing 330 is new territory so I am glad we have the confidence to do that now," continued Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to repeat it but, if necessary, we are confident we can succeed."

Those words will be the ultimate thing competing nations at this World Cup need to hear.

During the last week a feeling they will succeed regardless of circumstances has only strengthened - this triumph succeeding victory over Pakistan by 107 runs despite being 76-7 at a certain moment.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before a match against longtime competitors England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final berth may well be secure.

It was at that stage they left last year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - an encounter Healy couldn't play because of ruptured tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the initial instance at a major tournament.

So strong is her resolve, she later said she wished she had played with the discomfort.

But while she afterwards confessed those injuries have postponed thoughts of retirement, this championship is anticipated as her final tournament as skipper in 50-over cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a global event as leader.
